Rules Of A Godly Life: Part 1: Rule 9

"Be not overly concerned in another man's business, and what is of no concern to you, avoid."

The Apostle Peter spoke of this when he wrote:
"But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters." I Peter 4:15

C. S. Lewis Wrote:

C.S. Lewis
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

  1. I'm wandering what defines what SHOULD be a concern, or what makes something YOUR concern when it has to do with someone else.

  2. That is a good question. I do not believe there can be any hard and fast rule regarding making this decision other than the "Golden Rule." Before involving ourselves in the business of others, let's prayerfully consider if we would want that for us if we were them.
